SHORT BIO
Vasco is a senior litigator with more than 16 years in practice and has been described by senior pre-eminent members of the South African legal profession as: “a very competent lawyer with sound judgement and an exceptional grasp of the law”; and “highly committed… always intent on delivering the very best results for his client through strategic thinking and thorough preparation”. He focuses on various aspects of commercial litigation, fraud investigation, occupational health and safety advice and prosecution, business rescue and insolvency matters, as well as areas such as the management and execution of the purchase and sale of major international and local assets including aircraft, investment properties, share transactions and the like. His practice is truly an international one and he has been involved in both litigious and non- litigious engagements in South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Eswatini, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Turkey, India, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Kuwait, the Caymans, the Netherlands, France, Portugal and the UAE, to name but a few. Vasco’s clients include South African mining houses, blue- chip South African and European electrical pioneers, multi- national construction entities, US investment firms, asset managers, politicians, trade unions, international mobile network operators, oil companies and local fibre giants. He is also often approached by attorneys and advocates in respect of providing both strategic and procedural advice in their matters. Vasco has also previously provided input for a number of South African daily press publications and has previously been published internationally in the Keesing’s Journal of Documents, the UK’s E- Commerce Law Reports and the UK Law Society Journal.
